Orthopaedic deformities can be:

• Soft tissue deformity, or
• Bony deformity

Soft tissue deformities include:

• Congenital deformities like Clubfoot
• Post traumatic deformities
• Those due to muscle imbalances such as polio, cerebral palsy, neurological disorders.

Soft tissue deformities are corrected by:

• Splints if it is a mild and correctable deformity
• Soft tissue releases
• Soft tissue lengthening and Z=plasties
• Ilizarov and other gradual distraction procedures

Bone deformities can be caused by several factors, including:

• congenital defect (from birth)
• abnormal growth during childhood
• bone trauma or fracture due to an accident or other incident
• disease (such as bone tumors)
• metabolic disorders

Deformity Correction Expert treats bone deformities that consist of a bend or twist in the bone, shift in bone position, or a difference in bone length. In many cases, an osteotomy (a cut made in the bone) is used to correct the deformity.
